The leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifo and Ewekoro local government areas of Ogun State have endorsed the process which produced former Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hon Adijat Adeleye as consensus candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency ahead of 2027 poll.

Penpushing reports leaders which include Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaji Ayinde Sogbamu and his counterpart from Ifo Local Government Barrister Olumide Oduwole described emergence of Adeleye as a reflection of inclusiveness and fairness that aligns with the ideals of the party.

The other chieftains of the party which include Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Member representing Ifo I State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Oluomo Olakunle, equally aligned with position of others.

Penpushing further reports that the leaders admitted that Adeleye has been tested and trusted to have been a consistent candidate to fly the flag of the party for the Federal House of Representatives.

They declared to give her best support to enable her emerge victorious in the coming phases of the elections, emphasizing that in the interest of fairness, truth and inclusiveness, Adeleye remains the choice of the constituency

Penpushing also reports that Oduwole pointed out that the interest of the party remained paramount and must be adhered to with a view to strengthening internal cohesion and unity.

The party leaders in the constituency commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for upholding the ideals of the party, stressing that the engagement and efforts of the leaders from the constituency with the hierarchy of the party to have arrived at the consensus arrangement,

Penpushing reports that the leaders added that it was in the collective interest of the people to allow Ifo Local Government Area to have their turn in occupying the House of Representatives seat in the forthcoming poll.

The party leaders acknowledging the efforts of the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim in the National Assembly, sought for the massive support of the party members to deliver en mass votes for all the consensus candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections for all the elective positions.

Penpushing further reports that in similar vein, Olu of Itori and Chairman, Progressives Obas, Oba Fatai Akamo as well as the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi showered royal blessings on Adeleye during a visit to the monarchs, stating that her aspiration would give a voice to all strata of the society.

The candidate in her remarks appreciated the ranks of the party for standing in the best interest of loyalty, noting that history would forever be kind to Governor, Dapo Abiodun for upholding the principle of fairness in the Federal Constituency.

Penpushing also reports that Adeleye who announced plans to give a facelift to the party secretariat with the donation of generating set and fans to the Ewekoro party secretariat, sought for increasing support of the party; while assuring of representing all interests, yearnings and needs of the Federal Constituency if elected.

Meanwhile, the meetings were attended by Wards’ Chairmen and Vice-chairmen, Secretaries, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders, Ward Apex body, Party Executives, Wards’ Councillors, and Apex Leaders amongst others from both Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.
