A suspected fraudster impersonating Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa is on the prowl in an attempt to defraud members of Penpushing platform and other innocent individuals.
Penpushing reports that the suspected fraudster using mobile phone number 08070603818 with Obasa’s photo image displayed on WhatsApp contact has been calling for a meeting with Penpushing members and sending them fraudulent code to join the fake meeting
The management and editorial board of the media outlet in swift response disowned the alleged suspected fraudster, as not a member of the platform, and equally called on genuine members of the platform to ignore the fake proposed meeting
Penpushing further reports that the management explained that if there should be such a meeting, it will made official and posted on the platform for members to see, adding that the suspect might have hacked phone number of innocent people from another sources, and started contacting individuals to deceive them.
The management in a notice pasted on the platform emphasized that there was no meeting called by the organization and called on members and general public to be on guard and effectively secured their contacts from being hacked by fraudsters
‘The hacked number is not existing on the platform; in other words, no member has his/her phone hacked. The management suspect that the fraudster is using hacked number from another source to send fake organized meeting to individuals trying to hide under Penpushing platform’, the statement read.
‘However. We call on everyone to ignore such message. If there is to be any engagement organized by Penpushing Media, it be public here on platform through the management and editorial board. In view of this let us be on guard. Thanks’, it added
