A former Governorship aspirant under platform of Ogun State Chapter of All Progressives Congress(APC) Dr. Jelili Kayode Amusan has congratulated Senator Solomon Adeola following his emergence as governorship candidate of the party.
Penpushing reports that Amusan in a congratulatory message said he accepted the decision of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on the choice of Adeola ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former governorship hopeful said the decision was a move widely regarded as a demonstration of political maturity and party loyalty, explaining that he has respectfully withdrawn his governorship ambition in the overriding interest of unity, stability and collective progress within the party.
“Significantly, Hon. Amusan had, weeks earlier, suspended his active governorship campaign following a series of strategic consultations and engagements with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (fondly known as YAYI). These interactions provided him with deeper insight into Adeola’s vision and developmental blueprint for our dear Ogun State”, the statement read.
Penpushing further reports that Amusan stated that convinced by the clarity, inclusiveness and people-centered nature of this agenda, he deemed it both responsible and statesmanlike to align himself with and support Adeola’s aspiration, and he has therefore extended his heartfelt congratulations to Adeola on his emergence as the party flag bearer.
The statement added that Amusan described it as a well-deserved recognition of experience, capacity and commitment to service and equally offered prayers for Adeola’s success at the polls in the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that his candidacy represents a strong pathway to victory for the party and sustainable development for Ogun State.
