The Juju music legend, Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has encouraged Nigerian students to use their knowledge and skills to inspire positive change and contribute to national development globally.

Penpushing reports that Obey-Fabiyi gave the charge on Saturday at the sixth graduating ceremony of 79 students from Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, held at the Ebenezer Obey Music and Life Skills Institute, Abeokuta Centre.

The renowned musician and an evangelist urged the graduands in ensuring that their academic feats reflect the values of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity, stating that the centre was established to empower young people and give back to society through education and moral development.

Penpushing further reports that Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr Lateef Mustapha, described the graduation as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and lifelong learning.

The Director pointed out that the affiliation demonstrates that higher education should go beyond classroom instruction to include moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and community service.

Penpushing also reports that Mustapha reminded the graduands that real success would be measured not by grades, but by the positive impact they make in society.

The former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, in his goodwill message commended the university for its role in human capacity development and urged the graduands to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution.

Penpushing reports that Director of the institute, Mr Adekunle Durosinmi, earlier in his speech described the event as a milestone in the institute’s steady journey towards excellence.

The Director stressed that the growing number of graduates reflects the confidence students have in the centre’s academic and professional programmes, which continue to blend moral values with skill-based learning.

Penpushing further reports that Durosinmi reaffirmed the management’s commitment to sustaining high standards and expanding opportunities for students seeking quality tertiary education and professional advancement.

Meanwhile, the seventy-nine graduands were drawn from the departments of Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, and Mass Communication.
