The United Premier Movement (UPM), a pressure group has congratulated traditional religious worshippers and cultural ambassadors in Yorubaland across the world on the celebration of annual Isese Day, scheduled to hold on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Penpushing reports that the congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by the convener of the socio-political and cultural movement, Hon. (Chief) Olalekan Shoyinka, popularly called Ayinla Egba.

The Convener emphasized that the group joined the sons and daughters of Oduduwa across the world to celebrate the 2025 Isese Day, stressing that it is deeply rooted in the values of the people.

Penpushing further reports that Shoyinka added that the body recognize Isese Day not just as a festival, but as a sacred reminder of the spirituality, resilience, and identity that bind them together as Yoruba.

‘In Yorubaland and Egbaland in particular, this day provides an opportunity for reflection, thanksgiving, and communion with our ancestors. It is a moment to honor the Òrìṣà, to uphold the wisdom of our forebears, and to renew our collective commitment to sustaining the traditions that have given us pride of place among the nations of the world’, he wrote.

‘We felicitate with all traditional religious worshippers, custodians of culture, and cultural ambassadors who continue to preserve our heritage against the tides of modern erosion. Your dedication ensures that the essence of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe l’agbà – tradition is supreme – remains unbroken and vibrant’, he emphasised.

‘As devotees embark on the spiritual journey to Oke-Abola tomorrow, we pray that Olódùmarè bestows upon Yorubaland and indeed the entire nation, peace, guidance, unity, and prosperity. May our land flourish under divine protection, and may our culture continue to shine as a beacon of wisdom, tolerance, and strength’.

‘The United Premier Movement (UPM) reaffirms its solidarity with every Yoruba son and daughter committed to the preservation of our traditions, even as we collectively strive for political, social, and economic renewal in our land’.

‘Ìbà se gbogbo àgbà, Ìbà se gbogbo òrìṣà, Ìbà se gbogbo baba-nlá àti iya-nlá wa.May the spirit of our ancestors bless this generation and those yet unborn’, the group stressed
