The Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repair, and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) Ogun State Chapter has inaugurated officers to pilot the association for a period of five years.
Penpushing reports that the inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday at the secretariat of the body in Abeokuta, and had in attendance dignitaries, including the National President Alhaji Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun, who is also a National Trustee of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Nigeria among others
The executives elected for a second term is being led by Amos Kayode Sowunmi who in his speech, expressed gratitude to the National President of the association, Ogun State Government, and members for their trust and support.
Penpushing further reports that Sowunmi highlighted the achievements of the previous term, including: procurement of exotic cars for executives, distribution of brand-new motorcycles to branch chairmen, cash gifts to branch chairmen, comprehensive medical outreach program, partnership with the government to provide e-bikes to members, sponsorship of annual pilgrimage for deserving executives, collaboration with security agencies and other unions
The Chairman, however, pledged to build on the momentum of the previous term, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, loyalty, and innovation, as well as calling on members to be loyal at all time for the developmental growth of the association.
Penpushing also reports that, the National President Alhaji Samsondeen Apelogun in his remarks pointed out that the inauguration ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for body in the State, with a renewed commitment to serving members and promoting the welfare of commercial tricycle and motorcycle operators in the state.
The President commended the outgoing executives for their sterling leadership and achievements during their tenure and emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and commitment to the welfare of members.
Penpushing reports that Apelogun in the same vein expressed appreciation the Ogun State Government, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the support and collaboration with the association.
The national boss of the association equally advised the members on need to return to school for better academic qualifications explaining that in view of the current development only those with academic qualifications would be able to contest for any elective positions.
Penpushing further reports that Apelogun emphasized that gone are the days when touts and hoodlums are in forefront of the body, and equally encouraged women to be part of the decision making and ordered that at least five women should be part of the executives.
The national president in the same vein, charged the executives to be more prudent in their position and continue to support the Ogun State Governor and his administration for the betterment of the state.
