The Egba community under the groups Egba Agenda and Egba Lokan are now at loggerhead over the rumoured emergence of Senator Olamilekan Solomon on governorship ambition ahead of 2027 general election.

Penpushing reports that the Egba Agenda Forum in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Adesina Macgregor, (State Coordinator) and Comrade Tunde Ajayi, (Director of Media and Publicity) vehemently opposed the position of Egba Lokan Agenda on Solomon’s rumored governorship ambition.

‘Our attention has been drawn to a release on THISDAY Newspaper of Sunday, December 29, 2024, by one Hon. Kayode Oladele, titled “Ogun Guber, Oladele Lauds Egba Group’s Position on Yayi’, the statement reads

‘It is now necessary for our people in Egbaland and the general public to know that we in “EGBA AGENDA FORUM” are not in agreement with the position, canvassed by EGBA L’OKAN AGENDA 2027″ which was the basis on which Hon. Kayode Oladele relied for his piece in THISDAY’, the statement added.

Penpushing further reports that the Egba Agenda Forum pointed out that the group had been infiltrated by those who have no connection with Egbaland and never believed in the forum’s aims and objectives.

‘We need to emphasize that “EGBA AGENDA FORUM” came into being when we discovered early enough that “EGBA L’OKAN AGENDA 2027” was deviating from the original objectives which formed the basis of the group on 19th March, 2023’.

‘We also discovered that the group had been infiltrated by those who have no connection with Egbaland and never believed in our aims and objectives. After a thorough investigation on the situation report released by the “EGBA L’OKAN AGENDA 2027” , we discovered that the report is the handiwork of a single individual, borne out of pecuniary interest and which to us is an act of betrayal’.

‘Consequently, some members decided to come together under EGBA AGENDA FORUM. We remain committed to power shifting to original Egba sons and daughters, who are not in short supply in the State’.

Penpushing also reports that Egba Agenda Forum in the statement declared that it has responsible, dynamic, dependable and trustworthy Egba sons and daughters that are numerous and daughters had proven their mettle in various spheres of life.

‘For the records, among others, we have notables like: Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole (CFR), Senator Lanre Tejuoso, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola(OFR), Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan, Prof. Remi Bakare, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni OFR., and others too numerous to mention’, the statement emphasised.

Penpushing reports that the forum explained in the statement that Egbas are too sophisticated, advanced and knowledgeable to be hoodwinked into desperate and pot of porridge politics.

‘We shall publicise our main agenda for the incoming Governor in 2027, which will be presented to all those who express their intentions. We are determined to ensure that we eventually come up with ONE acceptable, candidate for the 2027 election. Egba lawa, A mo ra wa.  Alale Egba, Lisabi Agbongbo Akala, Gbogbo Ori Ade Egba a gbe wa o. Ase’, the statement read.
