The controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky on Monday shunned invitation by the House of Representatives to appear before the committee over the alleged N15 million bribery allegations leaked in audio recording narrating his six-month jail term experience with a friend.

Penpushing reports that the lower chamber had initiated an investigation into the controversial issues by inviting Bobrisky and a social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan said to have posted the audio through his Instagram page

The ex-convict in the leaked audio, alleged that the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) collected N15 million from him to drop the money laundering charges against him, alleging that he served his prison sentence in a private apartment after his godfather contacted the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Penpushing further reports that Bobrisky in the recording, equally claimed that he never spent a day in prison after his conviction, stating that his godfather arranged for him to serve his term in a lodge instead of jail, a comment that implicated the Nigerian Correctional Services.

The hearing, held by the House Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, which started at about 2:05 p.m. following the arrival VeryDarkMan, and his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, was observed that Bobrisky the central figure of the case, was conspicuously absent.

Penpushing also reports that it was noted that Bobrisky’s lawyer appeared on his behalf, claiming his client’s absence due to illness, but lawmakers, in response, asked why the lawyer didn’t come along with a sick letter to prove that Bobrisky was indeed ill.
