The League of Veteran Journalists, Lagos State Chapter will hold a public lecture in honour of a former National Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Jola Ogunlusi, who will turn 90 on September 25, 2024.
Penpushing reports that a statement by the, the Chairman of the League, Gboyega Amoboye said the lecture with the theme,’ Jola Ogunlusi: Life of a Journalist After Retirement’, is scheduled to hold October 8, 2024 at Ladi Lawal NUJ House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State at 10am
The statement stated that the lecture will be delivered by a veteran Journalist and retired Director of Information and Press in the Presidency, Mr. Eric Teniola, adding that Ogunlusi deserved the honour in view of his sacrifice for the union, especially in raising its standard and defending the rights of members.
Penpushing further reports that expected to be the Chairman of the event is Aremo Olusegun Osoba, former Managing Director of Daily Times and former Governor of Ogun State, while the Special Guest of Honour is expected to be the Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly.
Meanwhile, the statement signed by the Secretary, League of Veteran Journalists Lagos State Chapter, Otunba Gbenga Onayiga explained that a birthday thanksgiving service will hold 10am at the Church of the Pentecost Anglican Communion Festac town, on September 28, 2024 for the celebrant.
