An unknown crossdresser known as “Abuja Area Mama” has been reported dead in a controversial manner whose corpse was found at Katampe-Mabushi expressway, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the police command commenced investigation
Penpushing reports that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident in a post on X on Thursday, explaining that the police received a distress call at about 7.40 a.m. on Thursday concerning the corpse of the man who was seen dressed like a woman and had already been killed.
The police spokesperson in the statement explained that the deceased, according as at the time of filing this report could not be identified immediately by the police, adding that following a distress call detectives were dispatched to the scene.
“On 08/08/2024 at 07:40 AM, we received a distress call reporting a corpse found on the Katampe-Mabushi expressway. Detectives dispatched to the scene discovered the individual was a man dressed in female clothing with no identification. Investigation is ongoing,” she said.
Penpushing further reports that sources, however, said the 33-year-old transgender woman was noticed to have been beaten and bruised body found along a highway Abuja, adding that the deceased had a loyal fan base on social media, where she posted about being transgender and her life as a sex worker.
The sources added that she never used her full name, referring to herself sometimes as Ifeanyi, adding that in her last post on Instagram on Wednesday she wrote that she was getting ready to go and see her boyfriend.
