The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday sworn-in two Permanent Secretaries Mrs. Adejumoke Adewole and Mrs. Kehinde Jokotoye and four Principals-General, with a charge to make probity and effective service delivery their watchwords.

Penpushing reports that the Principals-General include, Mr. Babatunde Ige for Egba Division; Mr. Babatunji Yusuf for Ijebu Division; Dr. (Mrs.) Olubunmi Womiloju for Remo Division and Mr. Taoreed Bankole for Yewa Division.

The Governor speaking at the ceremony held in his office stated that the State Civil Service was noted for its integrity, discipline and passion for excellence, hence the need for the new appointees to uphold the core values laid down by the founding fathers of the state.

Penpushing further reports that Abiodun said Permanent Secretaries were appointed based on merit from the pool of senior Directors, who participated in the Leadership Development Programme, while the four Principals-General were selected from 20 shortlisted Principals from each of the four divisions of the state.

“Your appointment is a testament to hard work and dedication to our state’s service as it reflects the deliberate approach of our administration to strengthen the public service and improve its functions as the engine room of government for optimal service delivery. The contributions of the Principals-General will enhance our educational standard and sustain the status of our state in educational development”, he said.

Penpushing also reports that he explained that the appointment was a call to serve the state even better, calling on the new appointees to serve as standard bearers of the state Public Service by interfacing between the government and the public.

‘Uphold your roles without compromising the expectations of this administration. Be prudent in managing public resources under your care; be a team player and make citizens necessary priority in your decision processes”, he said.

Penpushing reports that Abiodun tasked them to be innovative and adapt to changes, to provide the best services to the people, and expressed hope that they would carry out their duties with diligence, commitment and strong sense of responsibility, assuring that a conducive environment would be provided for efficient service delivery.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to preserve and enhance the legacies of the Civil Service by rewarding deserving officers, who exhibit commitment to service delivery and contribute to the successful implementation of the “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
