The was a mild drama on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos as number of Air Peace passengers lost their cool and demanded a refund of their airfare after their flight was delayed for several hours.

Penpushing reports that the Lagos-Uyo bound flight number P47140 to Akwa-Ibom the state capital was initially scheduled to depart Lagos by 7 a.m. but was shifted to 10 a.m, and few minutes later an announcement was quietly made known to some passengers that the flight had again being shifted to 11am

The officials of the Air Peace at about 11:20 a.m., gathered the agitated passengers together to again informed them that their flight would be delayed further because the aircraft they were supposed to travel in developed technical problems.

Penpushing further reports that in response to the shift time, one of the passengers shouted angrily to the female official of Air Peace who made the announcement that she should stop the nonsense and the management should refund the passengers money

The other passengers immediately join the male passenger and shouted at at the airline official who was struggling to explain what caused the delay, and in unison requested for the refund of their fare ticket, describing the action of the airline as ill-treatment

‘Hey, stop that nonsense, refund our money to us, What kind of ill-treatment is this? You brought us out to the airport since 7 a.m., and you have been keeping us here as if we don’t have what to do with our time,” the passenger said.

Penpushing also reports that another passenger could not hold back his annoyance as he complained that he had an important business meeting to attend virtually by 2 p.m. and that he would really love to be in Uyo by that time.

The airline official pointed to Air Peace aircraft parked on the tarmac and declared to the passengers that the aircraft to fly them was on the tarmac, but its grounded because of technical problem, adding that the engineers are working on it

‘That’s the aircraft that was to fly you people to Uyo. It’s grounded because of technical problem; the engineers are working on it. But we don’t know when they will be through with it’, the female official said

Penpushing reports that the official explained that Air Peace was working on an alternative solution, to fly deploy to the Uyo route an aircraft that was flying into Lagos from Akure, Ondo State, and in quick response a passenger requested to know what time they are to leave Lagos

The airline official in response declared that she could not be affirmative on that, adding that as at the time of the argument between her and the passengers, the Akure passengers enroute Lagos are boarding and expected to arrive Lagos by 12: 30p.m.
