The Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom has condemned a propaganda virally circulating in some media in London and Nigeria to malign the good image of the mission and Nigeria.

Penpushing reports that a statement by the High Commission in London, Tuesday regretted that the authors of the propaganda maliciously imported video/photographs and stories of alleged past events in the embassy before 2019 as if they were current.

“We hereby seize this opportunity to inform members of the public to disregard such video, photographs and stories as they do not reflect the current status of the mission’, the statement emphasised,

‘The Nigerian High Commission, London, currently enjoy peace, tranquility, harmony and unprecedented cooperation from the Nigerian Diaspora Community in the United Kingdom, particularly on consular services and bilateral relations”, the statement reads

Penpushing further reports that the commission reassured the public of its commitment to the responsibility of delivering efficient services to both Nigerian residents and Nigerian visitors to the United Kingdom.

This commission’s statement came on the heels of an appeal by the High Commissioner, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola last Sunday to Nigerians in Diaspora to remain circumspect and engage in constructive networking among themselves to engender their commitment to promote good image for Nigeria.

Penpushing also reports that Ishola addressing a collection of Nigerian visitors to Britain whom he had invited for dinner at the Abuja House, commended Diaspora Nigerians for their immensurable contributions to Nigeria’s economy vide regular fund transfers to Nigeria and advised them to add value to that by engaging in proactive measures that would market their political potentials.

The Sunday dinner, had in attendance Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, Towulade Akinale, his Olori, Olanike Ogunleye and the wife of the former President, Chief( Mrs), Bola Obasanjo, among other Nigerian senior citizens,

The Nigerians applauded Ambassador Ishola and his wife, in regards the appreciable improvement in the consular and other services of the embassy to the generality of Nigerians who visit the mission headquarters.
