Gunmen have kidnapped two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) around the Manini area of Birnin Gwari Local Government of Kaduna State while returning from the inauguration of the new Governor of the State Uba Sani.
Penpushing reports that the Chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Kasai, confirmed the development to journalists on Wednesday, adding that the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two party women leaders alongside many unidentified travellers.
The Chairman stated that among the kidnapped travellers were the women leaders whose identities include Lami Awarware and her assistant, Haulatu Aliyu, adding that as at the time of filing this report the abductors were yet to contact the families of the victims.
Penpushing further reports that the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer Muhammed Jalige, was yet to make any official statement or comment over the incident as at Wednesday of filing this report
