The immediate former Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has arrived Daura his hometown in Katsina State after his two-term tenure ended on Monday, and he is expected to start cattle business as earlier disclosed during his valedictory statement.

Penpushing reports that Buahri in company of his wife, Aisha, his son Yusuf, daughters Hanan and Halima, his nephew Musa Haro and Hadi Sirika, the immediate former aviation minister arrived aboard Air Force One, the President’s official aircraft at Ummaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport Katsina.

The former President and his family on arrival at 1.11pm was received by  the new Governor of the State Dikko Radda, and took a helicopter to Daura, his home town, while the two planes carrying the former president’s luggage and some family members preceded the Air Force One plane.

Penpushing further reports that Buhari and his family after resting for about 20 minutes at the airport VIP lounge, were led to a waiting helicopter by Governor Radda and heads of security agencies in Katsina State for an onward journey to Daura.

The former Nigeria’s President it is recalled has disclosed that on completion of his term office, he would be relocating to his farm in Daura, Katsina State, to take care of his cattle and concentrate on his business.

Penpushing also reports that Buhari made this known while speaking at a valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held at the State House Council Chamber on Wednesday in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The former President who affirmed that he is happily relocating to his farm said since he became President, he has not had much time to take care of his cattle and concentrate on his business, stressing that shortly after handing over to Tinubu on Monday he would have time to attend to the cattle

“I will also be happy to do the many things that I have not been able to do since May 29th, 2015. One of such is my favourite pastime of taking care of my cattle. I am proud to say we gave our best’, Buhari added

Penpushing reports that he expressed appreciation to his ministers for their support throughout his eight years as president, noting that for those who will not be in office with the incoming administration they should provide their support

“In the course of our years together, ranging from our newest addition to the oldest members of the team for the past seven and half years, we have differed on many issues. I urge that we understand that those positions were for the collective good, and no one should keep grievances or carry these differences forward”, he said.

“For those of us that will not directly be in government, I know that I am one of such; I ask that we continue to provide our support, in whatever way we can, if called upon by our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC), that gave us the platform to stand and we must continue to support it in every way we can’, Buhari added.

Penpushing reports that Buhari   urged members of the cabinet to always check on him when he finally relocates to Daura, emphasisng that his hometown should not be seen as too distant because he is no longer President.

“I look forward to a great many of you, disproving that Daura has not become too distant because I am no longer Mr President. I wish all of us the best and hope to hear good news whenever any of our names are mentioned. Thank you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, he stated

Penpushing further reports that in the same vein, Buhari expressed appreciation to staff members of the State House for the support they gave him throughout his administration which lasted for eight years.

The immediate President, it is also recalled was first elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2019, handed over to Bola Tinubu Monday morning before leaving Abuja for his home state, Katsina., while record has it that his administration was enmeshed in insecurity which pervaded the country among other lapses
