The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the certificates of return to the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu and the Vice-President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettima on Wednesday barely few hours after being pronounced as winner of the Saturday elections
Penpushing reports that Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the presentation at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The former Lagos State Governor contested under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the February 25, 2023 Presidential elections and defeated other opponents having scored 8,794,726 votes in the keenly contested race
Penpushing further reports that Tinubu’s closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had sixth time attempted to be President scored 6,984,520 votes, while the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, recorded 6,101,533 votes.
