Two alleged principal operators in the gruesome murder of a couple on New Year day at Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital have been identified and arrested by the police.

Penpushing reports that one of the suspects, said to be the driver of the deceased couple, who earlier escaped from police custody has equally been re-arrested, and said to have made some confessional statement during interrogation.

The driver identified as Lekan was alleged to have actively participated in the crime which took place at the private residence of the deceased couple in the early hours of January 1, 2023, shortly after their return from a cross over church service.

Penpushing further reports that, the suspects were arrested separately by police detectives team in Ogere and Ikenne towns located in Remo North and Ikenne local government areas of Ogun State respectively

The suspects said to have made confessional statement on individual roles played would be paraded on Friday at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran in Abeokuta, while frantic efforts were still on going by the police in apprehending another suspect still at large

Penpushing also reports that the couple Kehinde Fatinoye a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the wife, Bukola a staff of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNNAB), Abeokuta, it will be recalled were burnt beyond recognition after gruesomely murdered by the assailants, who also abducted their son who was thrown into a river along Adigbe-Obada axis of the town.

The couple were however, buried the following day of the incident after a funeral church service, held at Okejigbo area of Abeokuta, while the recovered body of their son from the river were also committed to mother earth the third day of the sad incident.

Penpushing reports that the cousin of the late Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official, Ambrose Somide, Director Radio Services of Daar Communications could not control his emotion over the sad loss of the couple, stressing that he could not explain what might be behind the development
