The Abeokuta Sports Club (1904) has conferred Vice Patron on traditional ruler of Akinale, Owu Kingdom, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, with the investiture scheduled to hold on Friday December 2nd, 2022 at the Club Event Centre, Abeokuta
Penpushing reports that, the letter jointly signed by the President of the club, Dr Olusola Egbesola and the General Secretary, Mr Yinusa Jamiu Ajani, to this effect has been forwarded to the monarch, who is the Towulade Akinale.
The letter said the club has recognised the numerous positive strides and contributions made by the royal father within the club and the larger society, adding that in this spirit the club found him worthy of the honour
“It is in this spirit that the club under the leadership of Dr Olusola Egbesola has found you worthy of this honour. We believe this unique honour would spur you into doing more for humanity’, the letter emphasised.
Penpushing further reports that, the veteran journalist turned traditional ruler was admitted a member of Abeokuta Sports Club during his days as a spokesperson for the defunct Nigeria Airways in the 80’s.
