The 1982 alumni set of Oke Ona Grammar School, Iberekodo, located in Abeokuta North Local Government  of Ogun State has donated blocks of classrooms to the school, a project commissioned as part of activities marking the college 40th year anniversary in Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that, the National President of the alumni association, Hon. Abayomi Whyte at the ceremony held within the college premises, explained that, in addition to the gestures the boys hostel perimeter fencing will soon be completed.

The President explained that, the perimeter fencing will  thereby pave was  for full boarding facilities in the school, disclosing that in the same vein other sets of  the alumni has concluded plans to complete other projects in the school which include a gate house, a dining hall for the hostel and the female hostel.

Penpushing further reports that, Whyte, while appreciating the Majekodunmi Foundation for the support, however, called on other sets both home and abroad to join hands in making the school one of the best in the state

The alumni boss equally appealed to the Nigerian Government  to construct the Iberekodo road leading to the school, stressing  that the road remains important factor for the development of the school, as effort are being made to make the school becomes one of the flagship school in Ogun state .

Penpushing also reports that, Principal of the School Mrs O A Ayilara in her remarks expressed appreciation to the old students for the laudable projects, just as ahe called of the Ogun state government to give the school a better facelift.

“I am appealing to the state government, we should see their hands in the school. Looking around, you would see that its like they have totally abandoned us even when invited they use distance and the bad road as excuses but with the help of the old students we have no regrets” she said.

Penpushing reports that, the National President who was accompanied other members of the body, took journalists round the school compound, and pledged that the association will ensure continuity in supporting the college.
