A Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital, Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale has been arrested by the Edo  State Police Command for allegedly killing his girlfriend who he dumped her corpse in a bush, as well as killing another woman and buried the corpse in his office in Kwara State.

Penpushing reports that, Kwara State Police  Command Public Relations Officer, Okansanmi Ajayi identified the victims as Nofisat Halidu of Kaiama Local government area of the state, and Ifeoluwa earlier reported missing in Tanke area of Ilorin, adding that the suspect is billed to be transferred to Kwara State Command for further investigation

The statement added that, the new Commissioner of Police on assumption of office, while going through some petitions written by some citizens, a particular case struck him, regarding a reported case of one missing lady

Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner immediately ordered the setting up of a high powered investigation team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), to unravel the misery surrounding the kidnap case and other unresolved cases before his assumption of Office.

The police spokesman said, based on the Commissioner’s order investigation into the cases, began on September 30, 2022, which led to the arrest of the Medical Director, in Edo State, adding that on interrogation  the suspect confirmed he killed  Ifeoluwa, his girlfriend who was declared missing in Tanke area of Ilorin sometimes in 2021 and  her dead body later discovered in a bush in Alapa area of Ilorin where he dumped it.

Penpushing also reports that, the statement said further investigation led to the search of his office, and on opening of a trash can  another  body of a lady later identified as  the earlier reported missing Nofisat Halidu ‘ identified by the husband, and other members of the community who were present at the scene at the time of the search.

The command added that, a cursory look at the office presented a suspicious sight of a freshly cemented floor tiles, curiously the tiles were broken and a gory sight welcomed the detectives, where the decomposed corpse of the woman were lying inside the shallow grave.

‘Further search of the office led to the opening of a trash can where another  body of a lady later identified as  the earlier reported missing Nofisat Halidu ‘f’ identified by the husband, one Mr  Halidu and other members of the community who were present at the scene at the time of the search’, Ajayi stated

Penpushing reports that, other items recovered in the detained Doctor’s office include, two telephone handsets found in the hand bag of one of the ladies found in the suspect’s drawer, as well as two female handbags, a female wig, a veil as well as  a female pants.

The statement added that, in furtherance of the investigation, the Commissioner had contacted the Edo State Police Command requesting for the release of the suspect to the Kwara State Police Command to answer some questions regarding the discoveries in his office.

Penpushing further reports that, the police boss declared emphatically, that crimes and criminality would no longer be taken with levity, and advised criminal elements to pack their bags and baggages and relocate from Kwara State, declaring to criminals that, there is a new sheriff in town.
