The Governor of Cross River State Ben Ayade on Wednesday locked out number of Government house workers for lateness to work, and were seen loitering around the entrance gate of the Government House following the order.
Penpushing reports that, the Governor arrived at the office at 8 a.m., and was shocked to see that many of them were not available, and immediately ordered for the opening of a register to establish the late comers.
The Governor gave order that the Chief Security Officer to lock the gate against any late-coming worker thereafter, while those cut in the web of lateness include top ranking officers of the state civil service, and political appointees, as well as cadre of workers.
Penpushing further reports that, Special Adviser on Media to Governor, Christian Ita, speaking on the development said the governor had always frowned at indiscipline and shown reward to those committed to their responsibilities.
‘The normal resumption time is 8 a.m., and if a governor can be in office at that time, why can’t others be around. The governor has always shown reward and sanction to workers; he doesn’t hesitate to sanction when you err and also reward you when you are committed to duty”,Ita said
