The Bishop of Anglican Church Jebba Diocese, Kwara State,   Right Reverend Oluwaseun Aderogba, his wife and driver have been kidnapped on Sunday in Oyo town, and their whereabout remain unknown as at the time of this report.

Penpushing reports that Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso made this known in a statement on Monday adding that the command was currently in search of abductors of the victims.

The police spokesman stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s vehicle developed what seemed a mechanical fault while traveling from Yewa, Ogun State to Jebba, Kwara State enroute an isolated area along New Oyo/Ogbomoso expressway before the incident occurred.

Penpushing further reports that, Osifeso explained that  following the incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations has commenced rescue operation, so that the abductee can regained freedom.

“On Sunday 12/06/2022 at about 2100HRS, One Rev. Adekunle Adeluwa reported to the Command through an incidented report at Atiba Divisional Police Headquarters, Oyo town that at about 2030HRS, One Bishop Rt. Rev Aderogba of Jebba Diocese, Kwara State in the company of his wife and driver were abducted”, the statement said

“All the tactical teams of the Command  Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Ambush Squad, Puff Adder, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and Conventional Police personnel  along with local hunters and vigilantes are all involved in the rescue operations”,Osifeso added

The command in the statement disclosed that a discreet investigation led by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) was simultaneously being vigorously embarked upon to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt

Penpushing also reports that Osifeso, however called on members of the public with credible and timely information concerning the incident to report any suspicious movement to the nearest police division or formation.
