A former All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant, Pastor Tunde Bakare said his zero vote at the Presidential primaries of the party was a badge of zero tolerance for a certain kind of politics, stressing that he lost at the poll because he refused to compromise.

Penpushing reports that, Bakare, who is the founder of the Citadel Global Community (Latter Rain Assembly) made this known during Sunday service at the church, expressing optimism to the congregation that, he would still take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, despite his zero record at the poll

“Our heads remain unbowed because we did not compromise on the values that are integral to building a New Nigeria. For us, the means has always been as important as the end. This is why we confidently wear our ‘zero votes’ as a badge of zero tolerance for a certain kind of politics’, Bakare said

The aspirants who paid N100 million interest and nomination form for the presidential ticket, and lost out at the primaries, while standing before the congregation insisted that he is the next President of Nigeria after Buhari, a pronouncement which received a deafening ovation from members of the church.

“Our confidence is rooted in Daniel 4:17 (The angels announce this decree, the holy watchmen bring this sentence so that everyone living will know that the High God rules human kingdoms. He arranges kingdom affairs however he wishes and makes leaders out of losers. It is to Almighty God I will ultimately)”, Bakare emphasised

Penpushing further reports that, the known vocal  clergyman, however, congratulated  Bola Tinubu on his victory at the primaries but declared that despite the victory of Tinubu at the poll held between  June 6 – 8th, at Eagle’s Square, Abuja, he(Bakare) is the next President  come May 29, 2023.

The  former Governor of Lagos and national leader of the party, it is recalled  beat all the other aspirants to the ticket, polling 1,217 delegate votes, with others including Rotimi Amaechi(Former Transport Minister) scoring 316 votes and Vive President Yemi Osinbajo polling 235.

Penpushing also reports that Bakare on his own recorded zero vote, as well as  former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; former information minister, Ikeobasi Mokelu; and the industrialist, Tein Jack-Rich, scoring  zero votes.
