The Senator representing Lagos West at the National Assembly, Olamilekan Solomon who has now crossed to Ogun State to contest same seat under the banner of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday burst into tears, when he received nomination form to contest in Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that, Solomon popularly called ‘Yayi’ is said to be an indigene of Yewa, Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State, and recently declared interest to fight for the party ticket during forthcoming primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in the state.

The two term Senator representing Lagos State is to contest the party ticket alongside other aspirants, which include, a two time Governorship candidate in the state, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, said to be his major contestant.

Penpushing further reports that, a group had bought the N20million nomination form for Solomon, and during the presentation, the politician became emotional and burst into tears, wiping his face intermittently to stop flow of the tears.

The Senator who could not hold back the tears, which some guests at his private residence in Ilaro, where the form was handed over to him, described Solomon emotion, as tears of joy, which is expected following the development.

Penpushing also reports that, Solomon who later controlled himself, after about five minutes ‘cry and sob ’, confessed that, he became emotional over the gestures, and coupled with political turbulence  he had face when he decided to return to his homestead to contest.

The politician recalling his experience, said he was called unprinted names by his opponents, who sponsored number of written and verbal attacks on his person, to destabilize him, sponsoring hatred speeches about him.

Penpushing reports that, Solomon recalled that, at a point in time, as part of mischiefmakers to disorganize him, they were spreading falsehood about his origin, giving wrong information that he was not an indigene of the zone, but a foreigner.

The senator, while consoling himself, said with the purchase of nomination form for him by his kinsmen and party supporters, he  is now  fit comfortable, adding that, the development was a clear testimony that, he is a bonafide indigene

Penpushing further reports that,  he said the coast is now clear for him, boasting that, he was sure he would win the ticket of his party, All Progressives Congress(APC), and subsequently won at the general election coming up in 2023.

The former Commissioner in the state and leader in the Ogun West Senatorial District, Chief(Mrs), Iyabo Apampa while speaking at the presentation of the nomination form, said Solomon was the Moses of the zone, who will lead them to the promised land.

Penpushing also reports that, Apampa, who is a top politician in the state, expressed optimism about the emergence of Solomon, stressing that, his return home was a blessing to the entire zone, and was optimistic that, he would fight against injustice being meted to the zone since the creation of the state over four decades ago
