The General Manager, Nigeria Television Authority(NTA) Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama is set to record another feat, as she has been named as one of the valuable Nigeria Women in the Annual 100 leading Women, 2022 Edition.
Penpushing reports that, Wakama , a known workaholic journalist is being recognized alongside other 99 formidable women based on their influence and contributions to women development in the areas of media, business, politics, advocacy, medicine and other sectors.
The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), boss who is known to have transformed the Abeokuta station to the delight of listeners and viewers across the globe, while responding to the recognition said it was another feat which serves as a challenge to do more.
Penpushing further reports, Wakama, a proactive General Manager and media practitioner of repute, who has brought back the lost glory of Nigerian Television(NTA), Abeokuta expressed joy, with assurance that, she would not let her admirers down as she forge ahead in the noble profession.
The renowned broadcast journalist was the first female Chief Press Secretary in Ogun State, who served diligently under the administration of the former Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun
Penpushing also reports that, Wakama was equally the first Media Manager Programme and Outreach of the International Republican Institute (IRI), an agency under the USAID programme.
Meanwhile, others on the list include: Pastor Mrs Esther Arinola Odeyemi, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Mrs Folake Soetan, Yemisi Edun, who have also contributed meaningfully on their various fields of professions and callings.
