There was a shocking drama on Tuesday night as suspected hackers disrupted an emergency online press conference organized by Nigerian Women Group to address their displeasure at the rejection of the gender bills at the National Assembly

Penpushing reports that, the press conference started 9pm on a good note, after self introduction of journalists, other stakeholders across the globe, participating, and this was followed by presentation of the text by Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, who is the President of Ward-C, a Non-Governmental Organisation

The coordinator had successfully delivered her speech, and to amazement of participants, it was questions time from journalists, when the suspected hackers struck, and within a twinkle, all participants experienced total blackout.

Penpushing further reports that, all efforts by the technical team of the press conference to restore the situation proved abortive, as all participants were completely shut out, bringing an abrupt end to the press conference.

The women group, however, declared that, the development will not deter them from taking further action, and called on their members to storm National Assembly on Wednesday from 8am and fight the course to logical conclusion

Penpushing also reports that, the meeting emphasized that Nigerian Women demand an emergency meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly to discuss these provisions, stressing that they would be there on Wednesday

‘Join us at the National Assembly at 8am tomorrow, Wednesday March 2nd. Ask the wives, daughter, girlfriends or acquaintances of the members of the National Assembly to speak up at home or in public’, Akiyode-Afolabi stated

Penpushing reports that, the group called on well meaning Nigerians to support those who will be out with water, food, portable toilets, mats, wrappers, money for fuel for the generators and trucks among other utilities

‘Engage via social media with hashtags   #BreakPoliticalBias #NigerianWomenOccupyNASS. Support those who will be out with water, food, portable toilets, mats, wrappers, money for fuel for generators and trucks, etc’, Akiyode-Afolabi said
