Gunmen abduct staffers of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers

The gang of gunmen operating along Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Sunday kidnapped two staffers of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), alongside another victim.

Penpushing reports the suspected kidnappers in military camouflage numbering four seized the victims around the Isara axis of the road situated within Ogun State end of the expressway around 6.45am.

The victims were said to be on their way back to Lagos from Ibadan before the car in which they were travelling broke down around the Isara axis in Ogun State at about 6.45am, and while in the process of fixing the car the gunmen emerged from the bush and marched them into the bush.

Penpushing further reports that, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Tope Adaramola confirmed the incident, adding that the kidnappers as at the time of filing this report had contacted the management demanding N20 million each for the victims to regain freedom.

‘The victims, two of whom are workers of an insurance umbrella body in Lagos were on their way back to Lagos from Ibadan before the car in which they were travelling broke down around the Isara axis in Ogun State around 6.45am’, Adaramola explained.

Penpushing also reports that, the company scribe explained that, in the process of fixing the car, four gunmen, cladded in military camouflage emerged from the bush and marched the three victims into the bush.

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) said the kidnappers later make use of mobile phone of one of the victims to demand ransom of N20million each from the victim.

Penpushing reports that, Adaramola said the incident as at the time of filing this report had being made at Divisional Police Headquarters in Isara, adding that same contact was made by the management company to Ogun State Police Headquarters.

The scribe added that, on contacting the police command headquarters, the Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi swung into action and contacted the Divisional Police Officer at Isara division.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident when contacted said the Special Anti Kidnapping Unit of the State was already tracking the kidnappers, making frantic efforts to rescue the victims unhurt.

Meanwhile identities of the victims who are workers with Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), are: Olawuyi Olusola(Executive Assistant, Finance and Accounts) and  Bude Adeola (Graduate Trainee, Member and Technical), while identity of the third victim was yet to be established as at the time of this report
