A convict on death row in the Correctional Centtre, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, Segun Adeyemi has been fingered in love scam, by defrauding a lady to the tune of N800, 000, an operations carried within the four wall of the prisons.
Penpushing reports that, one of his accomplices, Oluwatosin Akosile, who is an ex-convict, has been arrested and paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), while the third suspect simply known as Lucky is said to be on the run.
The convict on death row said to be the arrow head of the scam, was reported to have met the lady (namewitheld) on a facebook, and thereafter engaged her in a relationship, which the victim thought was genuine.
Penpushing further reports that, the convict on the death row, as at the time of filing this report has owned up to the crime, when confronted with evidences, and promised to refund the sum of N270, 000 which he claimed was his own share of the fraud.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), intensive investigation revealed that, the second suspect, Oluwatosin Akosile met Segun Adeyemi, the principal suspect in prison while serving a jail term at the correctional centre in Abeokuta
Penpushing also reports that, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Ogun State Command, Ogbonnaya confirmed the arrest and parade of the ex-convict, who opened up to the crime allegedly carried out with his accomplice on death row in prison
