Penpushing reports that the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba paraded the 29 year old suspect, Itoro Clement, said to be driving a 2004 Model Camry with number plate BWR 243 BK as at the time of committing the alleged crime
The journalist, it is recalled was last seen on 13 October in the Garki district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, while his body was later found on Thursday more than a month after he went missing
Penpushing further reports that, Mba said the suspect was arrested following an investigation carried out by the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), adding that he(suspect) hit the victim at about 10:00 p.m. on the night of 13 October around Mabushi area in Abuja and ran away.
The suspect in his account during his parade said he thought the victim was an armed robber as at the time of the incident, adding that the scene of the incident is a known notorious area for crimes and criminals.
“I thought it was an armed robber that I knocked down until the following day when I saw a smashed phone on my windscreen. The phone was not working again so I threw it away’, Clement said.
Penpushing also reports that, the suspect confessed that he did not wait after the accident; until the following day when he noticed a smashed phone on his car windscreen, and observing that the phone was not functional, he threw the phone away
