A 11 year old student of Federal College of Education Staff School in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, and Glory Aremo has expressed optimism to take over literary work from the Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka.

Penpushing reports that, young girl, who is an author of a book titled, ‘From Grass to Grace”, disclosed  that she wrote the first book while in primary school, adding that she is also in the process of writing another one, expected to be published soon.

The promising girl in an exclusive interview with Penpushing media, said writing became her new chosen career after she attended summer camp reading organised by Sixth Sense Series Publication under the aegis ‘The SixthSense Initiative  by a popular author and educationist Abiodun  Oladimeji Lasile  in the year 2019.

Penpushing further reports, the lady accompanied by her mother, recalled that her initial ambition was to be a Medical Doctor, but later discovered herself in the literary work, adding that since the discovery she has not relent in pursuing the literary work she love with passion.

‘I will love to be popular and be known as a writer like Professor Wole Soyinka,  I have my first book published and the title is “From Grass to Grace” where I narrated story of a young poor girl (Rose)and her brother (Joseph) who rose from poor background and became great at the end of their life. I’m also working on my second book, as I’m talking to you, but I don’t have title for that yet’, she said.

“I am in (JSS1) junior secondary school and I picked interest in writing when I went to summer children camp 2019, when a teacher taught us about how to write a book, then I picked interest in writing and I started writing. I was able to write through the help of my sister in the camp,  though at first  I was discourage, but the effort of my sisters later make me chose the career, which I enjoyed most now’ .

Penpushing also reports that, the young author said her inspiration to write, comes from God, adding that her civil servants parents gives her adequate support, stressing that, the way they encourage her is motivational

“My inspiration comes from God, and conceived ideas to write on by reading books, which is part of encouragement and my parents support, they buy me inspirational books, when I read it,  I will compare it to what I’m writing if it is not  in line; I will look for another that it is in line with the story.  My writing is inspirational’, she emphasized.

Penpushing reports that, the author’s mother, Mrs Aremo who is a marshal personnel with the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Agency (TRACE), expressed gratitude to  God for having such a precious girl as her daughter.

The mother disclosed that she has been watching her since she was a baby with her interest in reading, adding that she is a curious girl who wants to know about everything within her surroundings.

‘I’m happy for her that God made her to write book and published it, the reason is that. I recalled that when she applied for summer reading camp organised by Mr Oladimeji Olasile in 2019, we are poor, but struggled to make sure that she was able to attend the program so that she can become better in the future’, the woman said.

‘Glory loves to read anything, whenever we are at home, she will always be asking questions about everything, when we go out, now I can see her interest grows. My advice to mothers out there is that,  they should not make party or clothes buying be their priority,  but they should train their children in way that will make societies a better place to stay’,she stressed.

Penpushing further reports that, the book, ’From Grass to Grace’ is a 32-page and 8 chapters literary work, dedicated to God who gives her wisdom and made it possible for her to write, and also dedicated to her parents and siblings who encouraged her.

The introduction part reads, ‘This is to help reading skills amongst children in an easy and interesting way.  It also teaches morals and creates hope for the poor and vulnerable children.  Read this to the end and find out what will happen next.  Answer all questions at the end of each chapter’.

Penpushing also reports that, the contents of the book are.. Chapter 1 (Rose and her poor family), Chapter 2.(Joseph’s Difficulties at school and at home),Chapter 3. (Rose’ new life), Chapter 4. (The christening), Chapter 5(Joseph’s new life), Chapter 6 (All the family members were happy), Chapter (7.Death stings) and Chapter 8. (Happy ending).
