TB Joshua buried in church headquarters

The remains of the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly called T.B Joshua were on Friday committed to mother earth within the church premises located in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

Penpushing reports that, the burial of the 57 year old renowned televangelist attracted hundreds of dignitaries across the globe, with number of them in tears and sobbing accompanied with flow of emotions.

The remains were lowered six feet beneath the ground in the presence of the widow,Evelyn and the children, as well as family members after a week-long  funeral service which climaxed on Friday afternoon

Penpushing further reports that, the controversial Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State indigene Prophet  was born on June 12, 1963, and was planning a low-keyed 58th birthday on June 12, 2021,  when death came calling on June 5, 2021.

The deceased founded the Synagogue Church in 1987, which has its headquarters in Lagos, and accommodates over 15,000 worshippers per gathering, and has branches in Ghana, United Kingdom, South Africa, and Greece.

Penpushing also reports that, the cleric is established as  one of the richest and philanthropic Pastors in Nigeria; and was estimated to worth over $15m in 2011,as contained in Forbes, and before his demise he  owned Emmanuel TV, a Christian television network.

The deceased  was a close friend of some world leaders including former Ghanaian President Atta Mills, while he  remained controversial for some years following his claim to be able to cure ailment which include HIV/AIDS and cancer.

Penpushing reports that, his  healing powers attracted thousands of people  mostly expatriates across the globe  to Nigeria, while he is said not to be in the good book of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN) and some notable Nigerian Pastors.

The church, it is recalled in September, 2014 a guest house in the church headquarters collapsed killing over 100 persons, which include scores of expatriates and religious tourists, while YouTube recently suspended him.over allegations of hate speech and for conducting prayers to “cure” gay people.

Penpushing further reports that,a thanksgiving service has been scheduled to hold on Sunday to end the burial programme, and  following his death the church authorities chose his widow, Evelyn, to take over from him.
