The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 40 year old man, Adesina Adebowale for allegedly raping a 60 year old woman(nameswithheld), having forcefully entered her apartment and pounced on her.
Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer,Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement said ,the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Idanyin divisional headquarters by the son of the victim.
The police spokesman said the complainant who came with his mother to the station and reported that at about 4p.m, while his 60 years old mother was in her apartment, the suspect broke into the apartment, and had sex with her forcefully.
Penpushing further reports that, the victim has since being taken to hospital for medical examination as at the time of filing this report, while the suspect had equally confessed committing the crime.
‘Upon the report, the DPO Idanyin Division, CSP Olayinka Kuye, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect. He was subsequently traced and apprehended, while the victim was quickly taken to hospital for medical treatment’, Oyeyemi added.
Penpushing also reports that, the police spokesman said the suspect has made confessional statement that he actually committed the crime, adding that the Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
