Hundreds of Students of Federal University of Agrculture(FUNNAB), Abeokuta on Monday troop to major street of the town in protest against kidnapped of one of their colleague, Nathaniel Olayinka
Penpushing reports that, Olayinka, a 400 level student in the department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management of the institution was on Saturday kidnapped alongside two others in a private farm in Abule Itoko, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The kidnappers as at the time of filing this report had contacted family of one of victims identified as owner of the farm demanding N50 million ransom from each of their victims, while it was also learnt that the university had informed police about the ugly development.
Penpushing further reports that, the students disturbed by the ugly development started their protest from the campus, and thereafter moved to major roads, as well as press centre at Oke-Ilewo to seek the support of journalists.
The protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Na book I come read, no be ransom I come pay,’ ‘Free our student, Free Nathaniel Olayinka, Free Funaabite,’ ‘Kidnappers should fight Buhari, not students,’ among others.
