Muslims converge on Ibadan for maiden edition of late Abiola Ajimobi Ramadan lecture

Muslim clerics and other dignitaries on Wednesday converged on  Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque, Oke-Ado, Ibadan to participate in the maiden editionof  late Governor Abiola Ajimobi memorial Ramadan lecture

Penpushing reports that, fund was also raised for the maintenance of the mosque, and prayer rendered for the deceased, his family, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello pointed out that though the former governor of Oyo State is dead, adding that the legacy he left behind cannot be forgotten by the people of the state.

Penpushing further reports that Bello noted that Ajimobi tried his best while alive touching many lives, adding that people of the state particularly Muslims will miss him for long time to come.

The Sheikh who was the guest lecturer stated that nothing has changed for good in the state after Ajimobi left office as the governor of the state, citing example of insecurity which he said has return to the state.

“Insecurity has returned to the state, people can no longer move freely, we have gone back to the era of hooliganism where people in the state can no longer sleep with their two eyes again”,he stated

Penpushing also reports that earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the event, Alhaji, Mutiu Oladejo a.k.a. Onimalu said that Muslim in the state missed positive impact of late Ajimobi, saying that the legacy left behind by the deceased cannot be over emphasize.

The Chairman, however, called on Muslims across the state to come together and support themselves, and stop looking for their mistakes, adding that Ajimobi has done his best while alive which people in the state can never forget his footprint.

Penpushing  reports that dignitaries at the event include: All Progressive Congress (APC)  candidate in 2019 governorship election in the state, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Fatai Buhari, Caretaker chairman All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, Oyo All Progressives Congress Congress(APC) Secretary, Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, and Barrister Lateef Fagbemi among others.
