Robbery suspect arrested for snatching bag of rice, cash

A suspected notorious armed robber, Ibrahim Fatai popularly called Emir has been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly robbing victim the sum of N120,000 and a bag of rice.

Penpushing reports that,the Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Sunday, adding that, the suspect violently attacked one Tijani Sodiq  along Araromi street, Obada Oko community in Ewekoro local government, and made away with the cash and the rice.

The police spokesman  said luck ran out against  the suspect on the 5th of February when the victim sighted him and quickly alerted the police,hence, the Divisional Police Officer  Bernard Ediogboyan swiftly mobilized his patrol team and moved to the scene where the suspect was apprehended.

The Command said in the process of robbing his victim, the suspect inflicted a grievous injury on the right wrist of the victim,adding that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who is leading member of Eiye confraternity led hoodlums who vandalized Obada Oko Divisional headquarters on the 21st of October 2020 during the Endsars protest,and has confessed to many cult related fracas in Obada oko and its environs

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police  Edward  Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation, and also directed that efforts should be on to apprehend the remaining members of the gang in order to put an end to their nefarious activities in the area.
