A Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly “Sunday Igboho” has alleged some of his kinsmen are joining Fulani herdsmen to fight him because of his stand on getting rid of herdsmen perpetrating evil in Oyo State.

Penpushing reports that Igboho made this known while speaking with journalists during an assessment tour to his house set ablaze by suspected hoodlums pointing out that he had discovered that his fight against the bandits is being politicized by some Yoruba

“I noticed that my fighting against herdsmen has been politicized, I never expect Yoruba to be supporting Fulani against my course to get rid of the evil doings of the herders”, the activist emphasised

“These Fulani are killing our people, kidnappings them, and even raping our ladies, and am trying for us to unite and chased them away so that peace can reign on our fathers land, but am surprised that some Yoruba are supporting Fulani herdsmen in attacking my house.”

Penpushing further reports that, Igboho, however, maintained that there can only be peace except all those herdsmen killing, raping and kidnappings people leave Yorubaland, stressing that “all am fighting for is that herdsmen should not take over our fore fathers inheritance.”

The Yoruba ‘nation’ agitator while narrating how his house was burnt ,said the suspected hoodlums arrived his house at about 3.30am on Tuesday, shooting sporadically before forcing their way in and set the building ablaze.

“Around 3:30am this morning, some of my brothers staying inside my house alerted me that some hoodlums came to my house shooting sporadically and banging on the gate, and later set ablaze my house, so two of my brothers staying inside the house managed to escaped for the safety of their lives, those hoodlums have ran away by the time I got to the scene of the incident.”

“About N50 million worth of property got spoilt in the house that was razed by fire, none of the residence in the house was injured because they ran for the safety of their lives, we have informed the police and they have come for the investigation”, he said

“Am not suspecting anybody for now but I know that there is more to it, the attackers should have come to where am currently residing, they should have come there if they know that they can fight and shoot, I would have had evidence if they have come to attack me here because all of them will not go Scott free, but thank God that they didn’t come.”
