The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has won a major national recognition winning award as Governor of the Year – Public Service Innovation at the Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Awards 2026.
Penpushing reports that the award, organised by the Nigeria eGovernment Summit, recognised Abiodun’s leadership in deploying technology and e-governance reforms to modernise public administration and improve service delivery
The Ogun State’s growing digital transformation earned Abiodun the award, while the organisers specifically commended Ogun State’s remarkable digital penetration and innovation, citing the administration’s technology-driven initiatives as a significant step towards building a more efficient, accessible and citizen-centred public service.
Penpushing further reports that under Abiodun, Ogun State has increasingly deployed digital platforms across government operations, using technology to simplify access to public services, streamline administrative processes and improve the overall interface between government and citizens.
The Governor receiving the award, thanked the organisers for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to his administration to deepen the use of Information and Communication Technology in governance.
Penpushing also reports that Abiodun said his administration would continue to introduce reforms aimed at improving the quality of life of residents, stressing that his commitment to delivering better governance would remain unwavering until the last day of his tenure.
